To most people the original Palm Pilot was an exciting new development in electronic diaries. Yambay's founders, had a vision beyond this and began working on using handheld devices to provide computing technology to mobile workforces.
Our technology is centred on solving enterprise problems by developing high quality client applications that utilise our client-server and synchronisation architectures rather than a bandwidth dependent browser. This sets Yambay apart from the rest, with our largely unique emphasis on both excellent client applications and robust, enterprise-grade end-to-end solutions.
Today, our applications rate as some of the most successful handheld enterprise applications in the world, with use at over one hundred individual sites. It is this handheld computing technology and experience in developing solutions for mobile workforces that yambay is now applying to the rapidly growing wireless sector. Yambay has evolved into a world leading developer of mobile commerce software for third-generation (3G) mobile devices including PDA's and mobile phones.
Yambay currently has around 40 employees, with plans to expand. We believe we have one of the largest dedicated handheld development team in Asia. The company remains privately owned with offices in Perth, Sydney and South Africa.
Yambay has a portfolio of over 30 enterprise products in various stages of commercialisation. Our clients include Centrelink, LJ Hooker, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rio Tinto / Hamersley Iron, Telstra, Toyota, Wesfarmers and WMC. Yambay also has a South African based company with an excellent list of customers including Anglo America (resources), Iscor (steel and resources) and Escom (Power).
